Personal Beliefs and Interests

Jeff believes it is essential to focus on the individual strengths, needs and values of each client while considering all factors affecting that person's well being. His goal is always to match each client with therapy methods that fit the person's goals and preferences. This individualized and holistic approach is made possible by his years of diverse training and experience in a range of settings, including private practice, an integrated healthcare clinic, a behavioral health hospital, and community agencies.

Approach

Jeff's work with clients begins with an exploration of the individual's concerns, challenges and strengths. He then works collaboratively with the client to define treatment goals and identify the best therapies to achieve them. At each step, he provides information and options to help clients make decisions about their own care. He is trained in a variety of therapies that help clients manage difficult emotions and behaviors, process trauma, and make progress towards goals. If he is not trained in the best therapy for a client, he helps that individual find someone who is.
